Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Lille of France goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama is among 11 players in line for the prestigious Marc-Vivien Foe annual awards in France.

The other African players listed alongside Enyeama for the award include Ghana’s Andrew Ayew who plays for Olympique Marseille, his brother Jordan Ayew who is on the payroll of Lorient and Aymen Abdennour of Tunisia who plays his club football with AS Monaco.

On January 8, Enyeama lost the African Player of the Year award to yaya Toure of Ivory Coast during the Glo/CAF Awards in Lagos.

Enyeama won the award last year and will be seeking for his second title. The award was put in place in 2009 in honour of Cameroun’s Marc-Vivien Foe who died during a FIFA Confederation Cup match in June 2003.

Over the weekend, the Nigeria captain kept a clean sheet, extending to 14, his total clean sheet of the season in the French ligue I.

The Marc-Vivien Foe annual prize is meant to honour the best African player in the French Ligue 1 each year and is voted for by sports journalists selected by French media RFI and France 24.
