Enyimba defender, Idris Aloma, has exclusively divulged to supersport.com that the Aba landlords are going to pick the maximum points this weekend at Kano Pillars.
League champions, Kano Pillars will welcome two-time African champions, Enyimba in a week 4 encounter that has become one of the most anticipated games every season in Nigeria’s top flight football.
Pillars have not lost to any Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides in the last 12 years at their home ground, but Idris Aloma believes Enyimba have the pedigree to pull a surprise this weekend at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Koformata.
“We will soon be on our way to Kano with full confidence because we have just been crowned champions of Abia State FA Cup after beating Abia Warriors 5-4 on penalties.
“We are in a good mood, and I can confirm to you that the spirit is high to face Kano Pillars on their home turf.
“Yes, we know that Kano Pillars have been awesome on their home ground, but we are going to Kano to break the record and I can tell you that Pillars will fall,” Idris Aloma said to supersport.com on Thursday.
Aloma, 20, netted Enyimba’s first premier league goal this season at Lobi Stars, and the former ABS man would love to score again this weekend in Kano.
“Kano is my home town, and all my family in Kano are coming to watch me this weekend, and I want to make them happy by scoring a goal against Kano Pillars,” Aloma said to supersport.com
The last time Enyimba and Kano Pillars met was November 16, 2014, and Enyimba hammered the Sai Masugida 3-1 at the Enyimba Stadium.
