Nigerian champions Enyimba have condemned the change in date of their CAF Champions League Group B fixture against Egyptian side, Al Ahly, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
CAF announced the shift in date of the game from Sunday to Saturday on their official Twitter handle on Thursday.
The continent's soccer governing body later stated that the shift was necessitated by security concerns due to the memorial protest that will hold in the city of Cairo on Sunday.
Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi-Agu is however unimpressed by the decision and has promised his side will write a petition to CAF on the issue.
"We condemn an attempt by CAF to bring forward our Champions League fixture against Zamalek without prior notice," Anyansi stated
"It is highly unfair and against the rules. We will protest this decision strongly. Any change should be Monday and not Saturday."
The Peoples Elephant who have lost their two games in the group stages need win to improve their chances of making it to the last four.
