Enyimba will hope to cement their place at the top of the Glo Premier League when they file out against Akwa United in Uyo on Wednesday.
The People’s Elephant displaced Sunshine Stars at the summit on Sunday following a 1-1 home draw against Oriental rivals, Rangers.
And with just one point separating them from the Akure Gunners who sit in second, they need a win to maintain their position at the top especially as Sunshine host Sharks the same day at their fortress in Akure.
Enyimba who were held at home in the reverse fixture by Akwa United have the best away record in the league this season, with four wins on the road and look good to extend that run.
Rejuvenated Sharks who have lost once in three league fixtures under Festus Allen will keep a date with Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township Stadium.
The hosts have a hundred per cent record at the venue and will look to bounce back from the disappointment of Sunday’s defeat to Taraba United in Jalingo.
Sharks head into the game on the back of a morale boosting 2-1 win against Warri Wolves in their last game.
The biggest game of the day will be in Kano, where champions Kano Pillars will slug it out with Heartland at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
The Sai Masu Gida opened their reign under new coach Mohammed Babaganaru with a 2-1 win on match day 20 which was their 200th game without a defeat at home.
The champions are seven points adrift of leaders Enyimba and know a further slip up will spell doom to their title defence.
Shooting Stars have a chance to avenge their 2-0 loss to Wikki Tourists in the reverse fixture when both sides clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
Wikki Tourists have failed to register a win in their last two games, but have an impressive away record (three wins on the road) which makes them dangerous guests.
In Enugu, Taraba United who ended their 17-match unbeaten run on Sunday against Sunshine will test their might against Rangers.
Giwa FC who were attacked by armed robbers on their way to Umuahia on Tuesday will hope to shake off the effect when they face Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Warri Wolves will welcome back their top striker Gbolahan Salami in their game against Ifeanyi Ubah.
Salami who missed the Seasiders’ 2-1 defeat to Sharks on Sunday due to suspension is expected to lead the line for his side.
Kwara United will have an eye on rampaging Dolphins forward Ifeanyi Egwin when they entertain Dolphins in Ilorin.
Egwin scored a hat-trick in Dolphins’ 3-1 demolition of El-Kanemi, the third of his career last Saturday and all eyes will be on him to see if he can replicate his devastating form once again.
Lobi Stars and Bayelsa United will go to war at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
Northern rivals, Nasarawa United and El-Kanemi Warriors, will do battle at the Lafia Township Stadium.
