Enyimba Set To Finish Off Vital’0 ; Wolves, Nasarawa Face Tough Hurdles

By Adeboye Amosu:

Nigeria champions, Enyimba will hope to do the double over Burundian side, Vital'0 when both teams clash in the second leg of their CAF Champions League first leg tie in Bujumbura this weekend, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.‎

The Peoples Elephants won the first leg 5-1 last weekend at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt in what was unarguably their best performance this season.

The hosts, no doubt, have a mountain to climb as they must score four times without conceding to advance to the second round.

This game offers another chance for Enyimba forward, Mfon Udoh who scored a brace in the first leg win and is now joint top scorer in the competition to prove he is truly back at his best after struggling with injury and loss of form last term.

"The first leg result was a good one for us, but that doesn't mean we will get complacent when we come up against them (Vital'0) in their backyard," the former Akwa United striker told Completesportsnigeria.com on the eve of the team's departure for Burundi.

"We are going to approach the game with all seriousness and hopefully we will come out victorious once again."

Should they make it to the second round as expected, Paul Aigbogun's men will face the winner of the tie between Morocco's Olympique Khourigba and Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia.

The country's other representative in the competition, Warri Wolves face a more difficult task as they bid overturn a first leg 1-0 deficit against Sudanese side, Al Merreikh in Omdurman on Saturday.

The Seasiders who are participating in the competition for the first time lost several of their key players during the off- season and must dig deep to scale through this tough hurdle.

"Football is game you can hardly predict perfectly. We still have the second leg to play, who says we can't also beat them over there in Sudan? It's not over until It's over. We are still in," handler of the side, Peter Nikietien said after the first leg defeat at the Warri City Stadium.

"We still have a 50% chance to qualify, we should not be written off. We ask for the support of the fans and the entire Nigerians as usual."

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Nasarawa United will be keen to protect their slim 1-0 lead against Club Sportif Constantine of Algeria.

The game will be played at the 40,000 seater Stade Chadli Hamlaoui in Constantine on Saturday.

The Solid Miners fought a similar battle in the preliminary round where they secured a 2-1 win against Senegalese side, Generation Foot in the first leg in Abuja before holding out for a goalless draw in the return fixture.
