Completesportsnigeria.com's ADEBOYE AMOSU examines the chances of the leading contenders as the Glo Premier League campaign heads towards an exciting climax…
Few weeks ago, the Glo Premier League title seemed to be heading to Aba, but the Peoples Elephant's 2-1 defeat against Oriental rivals, Heartland, has changed all the permutations.
Enyimba now enjoy a slender three point advantage over their closest challengers, Warri Wolves, who leapt to the second position following a comfortable 3-0 home win against Sunshine Stars last weekend.
With six games left to play, three at home and three on the road, supporters of the former African champions will be keen to see their side hold on to their slim advantage.
Coach Kadiri Ikhana will be worried by the side's poor away form in recent weeks even though they possess the best away record in the league this season, having garnered 19 points on their travels.
The Aba-based outfit have lost their last three away games against El-Kanemi Warriors, Giwa FC and Heartland.
They alongside Wikki Tourists are the only teams among the four vying for the title yet to lose at home, but they have dropped points four times.
With crucial away fixtures against local rivals, Abia Warriors, who they are yet to beat in a competitive outing, and a visit to Sunshine Stars still on the cards, Ikhana's men will have to do it the hard way if they are to lift a record seventh title.

Warri Wolves have recovered from their slow start to the season to become a title contender. With their talismanic forward, Gbolahan Salami, who scored a hat-trick in Saturday's 3-0 win against Sunshine Stars back in the fray after missing the side's last five games before the win against his former side, and his strike partner, Oghenekaro Etebo also back training, they look ready to wrestle the top position from Enyimba.
The supporting cast of Stanley Dimgba, Joseph Osadiaye, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Kufre Ebong and Ichull Lordson have all stepped up their games in recent weeks.
However, the Seasiders will need to improve on their away form if they are to beat their rivals to the title.
They have managed just 10 points in 16 away fixtures. Visits to Rangers and Enyimba will be vital to their ambition.
