Enyimba Star: We Saw Hell In Tunisia, We Were Very Scared

By Adeboye Amosu:

Enyimba midfielder, Dare Ojo, has revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that it was a miracle that they survived the intimidation from Etoile du Sahel officials and fans in the build-up to their CAF Champions League fixture on Wednesday.
The Nigerian champions were intimidated by the home fans and were not adequately catered for by officials of the home team.
Despite that, they booked their passage into the group stages of the competition for the time since 2011, edging out the North Africans 4-3 on penalties after a 3-3 aggregate scoreline.
The combative midfielder who linked up with Enyimba from National League side, Kwara United, informed Completesportsnigeria.com that they are delighted to have survived the ordeal and are looking forward to playing in the group phase.
“It was a tough experience for me and my colleagues. The Tunisians were desperate to win the game at all costs and they were unfriendly toward us,” Ojo told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“They lied to their people that they were badly treated during the first leg in Port Harcourt and their fans were desperate for revenge.
“Our training was disrupted and we were pelted with stones. I have never experienced that in my life and at a point I was very scared.
“We could barely move out of our hotel before the game. The situation was tough to the extent that our officials had to look for extra security to protect us.
“I thank God we were able to qualify at the end of the day. Now, we look forward to playing in the next round.”
