Former Nigeria international Etim Esin has warned the Flying Eagles to be focused on their first Group E game against Brazil on Monday in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Esin posits that the players must not let the fact that Nigeria have never defeated the Brazilians at the U-20 World Cup affect their concentration.
The ex-Flying Eagles midfielder was one of the biggest talents in Nigeria's squad that travelled to Chile in 1987 hoping to shock the world at the U-20 World Cup but were eliminated in the first round of the tournament after losing 4-0 to Brazil in one of their group games.
"So much has been said about the fact that Nigeria have never defeated Brazil at the U20 World Cup," Esin told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"As much as I would love Manu Garba's team to reverse that trend, I wouldn't want the team not to play their normal game. They must not put themselves under under pressure."
The game will kick off 1pm New Zealand time, which is 2am Nigerian time in the early hours of Monday.
