Ex-Super Eagles midfielder, Etim Esin, has berated the Nigeria Football Federation following the sacking of Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
On Saturday 4th July , the NFF through its media officer, Demola Olajire, released a statement confirming the contract termination of Keshi.
In a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com, Esin expressed his disappointment at the development.
He challenged the newly appointed interim coach, Amodu Shuiabu to better the records set by Keshi.
“The sacking was uncalled for. Can’t we appreciate our own for once?,” Esin remarked.
” Let me see what Shuaibu will bring that will beat Keshi’s record. Fine, he qualified the team for two World Cups, but Keshi also qualified the team for the World Cup and also won the Cup of Nations.
“Keshi is not my best friend, but we should always try and do the right thing and stop doing things that will continue to draw our football backwards. So honestly, Keshi’s sack is not acceptable.”
