Former Nigeria international Etim Esin has stated that the Super Eagles are in a very difficult 2018 World Cup qualifying group, with Zambia the team to watch.
The Eagles were drawn in Group B with Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia on Friday with only one World Cup slot available to the group.
Reacting to the draw, Esin, who was in the Super Eagles squad that lost the 1990 World Cup ticket to Cameroon, told Completesportsnigeria.com that the team must start preparation now.
"It is a Lion's den group. All three teams are power houses in African football. We just have to start preparation now, not our fire brigade approach style," Esin told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We failed to qualify for the last two editions of AFCON and we can't afford to miss the World Cup. So we have to put our house in order to stand a chance of qualifying."
Esin picked out Zambia as the team the Eagles should be wary of the most.
"For me, my biggest worry is Zambia not even Cameroon and Algeria.
" Zambia is an emerging team, they are more professional in their preparation.
"Cameroon and Algeria are power houses no doubt but personally speaking, I am worried about Zambia."
He also stated that the NFF now have their work cut out.
"It's (Super Eagles World Cup draw) going to be a big test for the NFF now on how they start putting things in place ahead of the qualifiers."Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
