Former Super Falcons coach Eucharia Uche regrets the group stage elimination from the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup but hopes for a stronger Super Falcons in future major tournaments.

Edwin Okon's team were beaten 1-0 by USA on Tuesday night (early Wednesday morning in Nigeria) in their final group game to exit the tournament.

The game at the BC Stadium in Vancouver was the fourth meeting between both sides at the senior World Cup with Nigeria losing all matches to the Yanks.

Uche, herself a former Super Falcons star, bared her mind to Completesportsnigeria.com on the outcome of the game.

"We all saw the game. Its unfortunate that despite the talents in the team, we didn't make it out of the group," she said on Wednesday. "We couldn't beat USA which would have guaranteed us (Nigeria) a place in the Round of 16 as one of the best four losers in the group stage.

"But at times, its like that in football. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose."

Speaking further about the Falcons, Uche tasked the Nigeria Football Federation on future tournaments.

"Its time we started preparing on time for major tournaments. We have to let the players know what it means to to participate in a major tournament like the World Cup.

"This group of players are so talented, it's so unfortunate really but who fights and runs away lives to fight another day. There's always another chance. I hope we get stronger next time we play a big team like the USA, " she added.
