Nacer Chadli opened scoring for Spurs from the spot in 37th minute after Ben Davies was fouled in the box by Tomovic.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men restricted their opponents to a couple of shots outside the area as they finished the half as the strongest side.
The North London side continued from where they stopped on resumption of play in the second half with Son having a goal disallowed for offside in the 47th minute.
They were however made to pay for their failure to kill the game off when Fillipo Bernardeschi equalized for Fiorentina in the 59th minute.
Both side’s tried to hard to find the winner without success ending the game with a goal apiece.
