Nigerian midfielder John Ogu says his team Hapoel Be’er Sheva are already focused on next Thursday’s Europa League round of 32 second leg tie away to Turkish heavyweights Besiktas.
In the first leg played on Thursday in Israel, Besiktas triumphed 3-1 thanks to an own goal by Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s William (42nd minute) and goals from Cenk Tosun (60th minute) and Atiba Hutchison (90th minute).
Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s goal was scored by Elyaniv Barda on 44 minutes.
Reacting to the loss, Ogu who alongside Nigerian teammate Anthony Nwakaeme featured for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, admitted that they lost to a better team.
“Heads up and think about the way forward. Last night was a game against a top side. Looking forward to the second leg,” Ogu wrote on his Twitter handle on Friday.
