Former Nigeria internationals have hauled praises on the financier of Premier League side, Ifeanyi Ubah United with one time Abiola Babes strong man, Ademola Adesina describing chief ifeanyi Ubah as the MKO Abiola of our time.
“I had a wonderful time playing for Abiola Babes because we had a fantastic proprietor in (now late) Chief MKO Abiola.
“I”m happy someone I can say is another MKO Abiola is back in our league as sponsor of one of the Premier League clubs.
“Talking about Chief Ifeanyi Ubah, I think we have someone who has come to fill the void of Chief MKO Abiola and I believe this is good for our league.
“From what I’ve heard and read about him so far, I think he has come with positive initiatives, to run the game the best professional way it is done abroad.
“No doubt the raised welfare of the players he has pushed in played a role in their defeat of Enugu Rangers over the weekend and I pray other well-to-do individuals and corporate bodies borrowed a leaf from him”, Adesina who harped on the massive improvement in the league so far as regards teams wining and drawing on away grounds said.
On his part, Friday Ekpo who had a blissful career at Leventis United and Iwuanyanwu Nationale described Chief Ubah as a good spender who can raise the bar on players welfare in his quest for success.
“I see his taking over of Gabros as part of calls for private participation in football sponsorship rather than allowing government do it alone.
“He has the passion and love for the game hence he ventured into football sponsorship.
“He wants success so would put the right people there, yes, he is a good spender and can raise the bar as far as players welfare is concerned.
“So let’s give him a chance, who knows he can become the next Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu or Patrick Osakwe or even Leventis of present Nigerian football”, Ekpo said.
