Ezekiel Rues Poor Form For Anderlecht

By Johnny Edward:

Nigerian U-23 forward, Imoh Ezekiel, has expressed his dissatisfaction on his performance in the outgoing season with his Belgian side Anderlecht but was happy to represent the club on loan from Qatari side Al Arabi. ‎

Ezekiel who scored two goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for Anderlecht compared to the six goals he bagged for Standard Liege in six monthsloan the previous campaign told Completesportsnigeria.com that the decision of Coach Besniki Hasi to play him as a winger was one of the reasons.

“The season was not too fantastic for me but I was happy to join Anderlecht because they are the best team in Belgium,” Ezekiel began in an exclusive chat with Completesportsnigeria.com

“Our objective was to win the league, but finishing second gives us a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round.

“My previous season was very good because I did well then, but I wished to attain more. I play as winger compared to the No.9 which I am.”

The 22 year old also refused to rule out another loan move away from his parent club, Al Arabi.

The One-cap Nigerian international previously spent the last 18 months on loan at Standard Liege and Anderlecht and has been linked with a move to Olympique Marseille in France.

“At the moment I cannot say if I will be returning to Qatar or going on another season loan. The transfer window is just a month away we will wait and see where they future lies.”
