Home-based Super Eagles captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa has praised hosts Benin Republic for their hospitality but insists the Nigerians' main aim is to get a favourable result in Sunday's 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Nigerian team, who arrived here in Cotonou on Friday, had their first feel of the Stade De Lamite (venue of the match) on Saturday with Ezenwa fully involved in the goalkeepers' drills with Alloy Agu and new interim goalkeeper trainer Ernesto Pionetti taking charge.
"We are out here to make sure we make our country proud," IfeanyiUbah goalkeeper Ezenwa told Completesportsnigeria. com.
"Cotonou is a nice place. We arrived yesterday and it's like we are at home because the way we've been received has been okay. We really love the place.
"The most important thing is the game tomorrow (Sunday) because like I said, we have to come out to make our country proud."
The winners between Nigeria and Benin Republic will qualify for the 2018 CHAN holding in Kenya.
