Sunshine Stars and Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, has told Sunshine Stars he wants out after one and a half seasons at the club, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The former Ocean Boys of Brass, Heartland and Sharks goalkeeper has handed in a transfer request to the management of Sunshine Stars as a mid- season transfer to big spending Ifeanyiubah FC looms.
“It’s no longer news. I’ve told them I’m leaving and I’ve written to them officially as well as the League Management Company,” Ezenwa exclusively told Complete Sports.
Ezenwa who was in goal for the Super Eagles during the 2016 Championship of African Nations in Rwanda revealed his frustration over the poor state of the Sunshine’s finances, saying owing him three months salary arrears is something he can no longer stomach.
“For three months now I’m yet to be paid. How can one survive?” he queried.
Completesportsnigeria.com understands Ezenwa is on N450,000.00 salary per month.
He was silent on suggestion he may be heading for big spending FC Ifeanyiubah.
