Ikechukwu Ezenwa says he will extend his stay at Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure despite efforts by a number of clubs in the Go Premier League to secure his services, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The talented goalkeeper was a key performer for the Owena Waves last season and also put up a fine display for the home-based Super Eagles in their ill-fated campaign at the African Nations Championship.
The Flying Eagles goalkeeper informed Completesportsnigeria.com that he has turned down offers from other clubs especially those that will campaign in the continent to stay with the Akure-based outfit.
"I have received a lot of offers from clubs who want me to join them ahead of the new season, but I told them i'm not ready to leave Sunshine Stars for now," he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Last season was tough for us (the players) as most clubs couldn't pay salaries on time, but I don't see that as a reason for jumping up and down.
"It's the same story every where, so I prefer to stay where I am now."
