Two Nigerian stars, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Hope Akpan will today be involved in a high profile match that will see their modest English Championship side, Reading FC play host to EPL high-riders Arsenal in an FA Cup semi-final tie slated for the 24,200 Madejski Stadium.
The 32-year old Aiyegbeni during the earlier period of his career with several English clubs had scored a couple of goals against the Gunners in the past and the former Super Eagles hotshot would be looking to bring that past experiences to bear and hopefully increase his goals count against the Gunners while his younger compatriot Akpan will also be hoping to play a part as Reading will be attempting to shock their more illustrious opponent.
Though Reading will be playing at home, they remain the underdog side against an Arsenal side who are the defending champions of the prestigious FA Cup and are currently rated as the most in-form team in the English Premier League. With the odds staked against them, Reading will be banking on home support and their never-say-never spirit to pull the chestnut out of the fire with bare hands in this game.
You can bet Nigerian fans will be rooting for the Yak and Akpan to go for it against the Gunners today, unless of course you’re an Arsenal fan!Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
