Falconets Battle South Africa For U20 World Cup Ticket

The Nigeria U-20 women national team, Super Falconets will face familiar foes, Basetsana of South Africa at the Abuja National Stadium this evening, in the final qualifying round for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals from the African zone, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Nigeria reached the final qualifying round after a defeat of the Democratic Republic of Congo for a 4-1 aggregate win.

South Africa’s Basetsana edged the Zambia U-20 girls 3-2 in the return leg in South Africa, following a 0-0 draw by both teams in Zambia to set up a clash with Nigeria.

The return leg between South Africa and Nigeria holds in Johannesburg in two weeks time.

The winner qualifies for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, to be staged in Papua New Guinea.

Ghana and Ethiopia will battle for the second African ticket.
