The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifier between the Falconets and South Africa earlier slated for Saturday, has been shifted to Sunday.
This was revealed by the Nigeria Football Federation on their official website on Wednesday.
Although, no reason was given for the shift in date, the time and venue of the match remains the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa, where the Super Eagles played a pre-World Cup friendly with North Korea in 2010.
Speaking ahead of the game, Falconets coach, Peter Dedevbo, expressed confidence that his players will come back with the World Cup ticket.
“We wanted to win big in the first leg, but it didn’t happen. Sunday is another day to look for a big win. The fact that we are playing away from home matters little to us," Dedevbo told the NFF website.
“Papua New Guinea is a destination for the Falconets next year. Nigeria has never missed any FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and we will not start now.
“We will play with our hearts, with confidence and discipline. We have forgotten entirely about the first leg result, because we know we have to win in South Africa.”
Meanwhile, NFF Executive Committee member Ibrahim Musa Gusau, who is also Chairman of Chairmen, will lead the delegation that will be made up of 18 players and 10 technical/backroom staff.4years ago My wife left me,because i was too WEAK in bed,but today she calls me Bed Champion. Now i finally discovered a Natural Solution that forces women to ask for more.
