Falcons Lose To E/Guinea, Out Of Olympics

The Super Falcons have been eliminated from the race to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after losing 2-1 to Equatorial Guinea.

In the return leg that was decided in Bata on Sunday, the Falcons shot into an early lead through World Cup star, Ngozi Okobi.

But with less than 10 minutes left in the encounter, Equatorial Guinea equalized to drag the game into extra-time.

In the extra-time, Equatorial Guinea scored the second goal and held on to to advance 3-2 on aggregate.

They will now meet South Africa who edged out Kenya in the other qualifying game.

The Falcons also failed to qualify for the 2012 London Olympic Games after losing to Cameroon.

  1. What the Super falcons is lacking is a solid coach 'cause they are good individually but terrible as a group.

    What we need is a coach with Sound Technical ability…it has been proven time and time again that our indigineous coaches are below par. they are woeful.
