Super Falcons forward Ngozi Okobi has signed for United States of America Women's Soccer League club Washington Spirit.
The signing, which was announced on the club's official webite on Tuesday night, is pending receipt of her P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.
Okobi will be joining two other Falcons players – forward Francisca Ordega, who has been with the club since the beginning of the season, and newly signed centre back Josephine Chukwunonye.
The former Delta Queens player was apparently happy with the 'dream' move.
“It’s a dream come true to be playing for the Washington Spirit and an opportunity to showcase my talent to the world,” said Okobi.
“Thank you to all the Spirit staff, especially coach Parsons. I am looking forward to a great season in Washington.”
Completesportsnigeria.com reports that Okobi scored a goal and provided two assists in Nigeria’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Sweden in their opening match of the FIFA Women's World Cup and was named Player of the Match.
