Nigeria forward, Fanendo Adi fired a brace as Portland Timbers rallied from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw against Real Salt Lake in a Major League Soccer game Saturday night, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
It was aAdi's 10th brace since he linked up with Timbers, the highest number by any player in the history of the club.
Adi who has been handed his maiden call-up by Nigeria caretaker manager, Samson Siasia for this month's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt, scored his first of the night 11 minutes from time when he converted a rebound after Dairon Asprilla shot hit the crossbar.
Adi grabbed his second of the night from the spot in the 84 minute to help Portland Timbers earn a share of the spoils against their opponent who finished the game with nine players.
The onetime Ukraine based forward thus became the first Portland Timbers player to score at Real Salt Lake Providence Park Stadium since August 2013.
The gangling forward scored 19 goals last season to help Timbers win the MLS title. He has netted three times in the MLS this season.
