Fanendo Adi Nets Goal No.15 For Portland Timbers

By Adeboye Amosu:

Nigeria forward Fanendo Adi bagged his 15th league goal of the season for Major League Soccer side, Portland Timbers, as they beat Philadephia Union 2-1 at the Providence Park on Sunday morning, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The goal makes him the 16th player in the history of the MLS to tally 15 goals in consecutive seasons.
Adi scored Portland’s second of the game in the 53rd minute of the encounter to continue his recent fine run in front of goal.
The former Ukraine-based striker was also on song in his side’s CONCACAF Champions League 4-2 defeat to Costa Rican side, Deportivo Saprissa in midweek.
The big striker has now scored five goals in his last six appearances for Portland.
He has also hit the back of the net in his side’s last four home fixtures.
Last season, he scored 18 goals to help Portland win a historic MLS Cup title and is now in line to surpass the goal tally this term.

  1. This guy is what Super Eagles need to solve the goal scoring problem. Hope the new coach is aware of Adi? And the main problem is, Nigeria coaches never believed in young players. Why not? We have Osime, Dauda and unknown players who can get the job done. Very easy and simple to do but corruptions won't let our people to do their job. We need the experience of both young and old players if we want to  have a formidable team and if we want our flag to be raised up in Russia 2018 world cup. I can see that the new coach is trying everything possible to have a solid team and qualify the team to the world cup but hmmm, a word is enough for the wise. God bless  Nigeria!
