By Adeboye Amosu:
Nigerian forward Fanendo Adi was the match hero once again for Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers as they beat Real Salt Lake 1-0 early Sunday morning, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Adi scored the winning goal in the 12th minute, unleashing a right-footed shot past RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.
It was his 14th strike of the season and his third in four games for Portland.
The big striker is now three goals behind MLS top scorer David Villa who has hit the back of the net 17 times this season.
Last season, Adi scored 18 goals to help Portland lift the MLS Cup.
Portland remain in the final playoff position in the Western Conference.
