Fatai Subbed On In Sparta’s UCL Draw, Osaze Continues Hull Trial

By James Agberebi:

Former Nigeria junior international, Kehinde Fatai, was in action for Sparta Praha who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Steaua Bucuresti in their first leg, third qualifying round tie of the UEFA Champions League.

Fatai, who started from the bench, replaced Sparta’s goal scorer Josef Sural in the 59th minute.

Sural put Spartan in front when he got on the score sheet in the 35th minute.

But with 15 minutes remaining, Nicolae Stanciu drew Steaua level heading into the reverse fixture which comes up next week Wednesday.

In England, Osaze Odemwingie continued his trial with newly promoted Hull City who played 2-2 away to Barnsley in a pre-season friendly.

Odemwingie was on from the start before making way for Greg Olley in the 87th minute.

Tom Bradshaw scored Barnsley’s goals on 31 and 53 minutes, while Hull’s goals came off the boots of Adama Diomande and Jarrod Bowen in the 15th and 86th minutes respectively.

In another friendly, Super Eagles goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, was not in action but Bright Enobakhare featured in Wolverhampton’s 2-1 away loss to Northampton.

Enobakhare was later substituted for Aaron Collins in the 77th minute of the game.

Niall Ennis put Wolves in front in the 17th minute, before goals from Harry Beautyman (37 mins) and Marc Richards (78 mins), secured the win for the home side.
