–Junior Selecao Land In Atibaia for Portugal, Australia friendlies
Flying Eagles’s dreaded opponents at the forthcoming FIFA U20 World Cup Brazil have suffered a setback after the country’s football ruling body, CBF decided to sack Alexandre Gallo who guided them through a difficult qualification series for the tournament, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Gallo who was in charge of both the Brazil’s U20 and U23 teams for two years, three months has been replaced by Mario Rogerio Reis Micalle at the U20 team for the youth World Cup in New Zealand, while senior national team coach, the legendary Dunga will now also take charge of their U23 Olympic team.
“The Brazilian national team’s technical commission has reached an agreement for Alexandre Gallo to depart as coach of the Under-20 and Olympic teams after 27 months,” a CBF statement said.
“Mario Rogerio Reis Micalle will take over the Under-20 team and the Olympic side will be led by coach Dunga until the 2016 Olympics.”
Dunga formerly combined the duties of coaching Brazil’s senior and Olympic sides in 2008, when he led his nation to a bronze medal in Beijing.
Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles group E opponents, Brazil, have landed in Atibaia to continue their final
preparation for the World Cup in New Zealand, Complete Sports has gathered.
The delegation arrived on Monday from Guarulhos International Airport and will stay at the Hotel Bourbon Atibaia till the final squad for the World Cup is released on Friday.
According to Complete Sports’ checks,Brazil’s Under-20 side will play Portugal and Austrialia in their final warm up games in Sydney.
The five time winners of the competition will spend 11 days in Australia before traveling to New Zealand on the 28th of May.
They face Portugal on 24 May and Australia three days later. Both fixtures are scheduled to hold at the Jubilee Oval stadium in Sydney.
