Nigeria Professional Football League side, Ifeanyiubah FC have vehemently rejected Oleh Stadium in Itsoko South Local Government Area of Delta State as venue for their 2015 Federation Cup Round of 32 clash with fellow NPFL side, Bayelsa United, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Chairman of the club, Chukwuma Ubah, told Completesportsnigeria.com that the choice of Oleh Stadium for the match does not portray the neutrality or level playing ground principle which the cup game is noted for.
He reckoned that since Bayelsa United play their Premier League home games at Oghara, Delta State, a venue close enough to Oleh Stadium would amount to giving undue advantage to Bayelsa United.
"Asking us to play Bayelsa United in Oleh is not fair at all," Chukwuma Ubah said.
"Bayelsa United play their league home games at Oghara, which is minutes drive away from Oleh.
"This means we're going to play them on their own home ground which is against the neutrality and level playing ground to all teams which the Federation Cup is noted for," the Ifeanyiubah boss told Completesportsnigeria.com.
He revealed that his club would accept any other venue other than Oleh Stadium.
"We just want to plead with the NFF to look into this. NFF as custodians and managers of the game of football in the country has listening ears.
"We expect them to ensure fair play to both parties. We would accept any other venue for the match", Chukwuma told Completesportsnigeria.com.
