Roger Federer made tennis history on Sunday by becoming the first man to win eight singles Wimbledon titles.
The Swiss defeated Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 to win his favourite Grand Slam for a record time.
Federer also becake the first man since the 1970s to win a Wimbledon singles title without dropping a set.
The victory over Croatian Cilic, who he also defeated at the quarter-finals last year, took Federer’s Grand Slam haul to a record 19, cementing his place as the greatest men’s tennis player in history.
Cilic, one of the biggest men on the tour, tried to muscle Federer out of the way, but the Swiss master was too smooth and the legend cruised to victory on his favourite grass surface.
