Firmino, Milner Scores As Liverpool Edge Swansea
Liverpool came from a goal down to beat Swansea 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium in the English Premier League lunch time kick-off on Saturday.
Goals from Roberto Firmino and James Milner gave Liverpool the win. Leroy Fer had given Swansea a first half lead.
Swansea went close through Borja Baston in the 5th minute but his header went just over the bar.
In the 8th minute, Fer gave Swansea the lead, tapping in at the back post after the Liverpool defense.
Liverpool were forced to an early change on 24 minutes as Daniel Sturridge replaced Adam Lallana who was involved in a collision.
Three minutes later Liverpool went in search of the equalizer but Sturridge couldn't connect with Philippe Coutinho's flicked through ball.
In the 48th minute Sadio Mane went close for Liverpool after exchanging passes with Sturridge only to see his shot cleared away.
Firmino drew Liverpool level on 54 minutes, heading in Jordan Henderson's cross.
Coutinho almost gave Liverpool the lead on 58 minutes but his effort went just wide.
But in the 83rd minute Milner put Liverpool 2-1 ahead from the penalty spot after Angel Rangel brought down Firmino.
The win puts Liverpool temporarily in second position in the league table while Swansea occupy 17th.
