–Says winning the title in Senegal is tops his mission
By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
Chief Coach of the National U-20 team, Flying Eagles Manu Garba has boasted that his team will win the Africa Youth Championship billed for Senegal, Complete Sports can report.
Manu told Complete Sports in Abuja that they would not only aspire to qualify for the World Cup but will strive to win the cup and go as the African champions, adding that it will be tough but could be possible.
He said that he and his assistants have painstakingly selected 23 players they feel will give their best to get the results that will win the World Cup ticket and the AYC trophy for the country, stressing that with God on their side, they will return home victorious.
“We have what it takes to win the AYC but we also need prayers and support from football loving Nigerians to succeed. All the eight teams that qualified are capable of winning the cup so we shall not take things for granted in Senegal.
“I know we can face any side and play our brand of total football and get the result we need to qualify for the World Cup but like I said earlier, we need prayers and God on our side to achieve our target. We surely are not going on site seeing in Senegal,” he stated.
