Kano Pillars forward, Gambo Mohammed is happy to be back in action after spending five months out of football due to gun shot injury, Completesportsnigeria.com.
The lanky hitman played his first league game of the season for the Sai Masu Gida on Sunday against Nasarawa United, replacing Eneji Otekpa in the 65 minute of the encounter.
Completesportsnigeria.com that he was relieved to be representing the club again after his lengthy layoff.
“It’s a massive relief for me to be back in the game after what happened to me earlier in the season,”the dark skinned hitman told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“It’s one incident that I will never forget in a hurry, but I thank God for sparing my life and that of my teammates.
“I have worked so hard to regain full fitness in the last couple of weeks and it was great playing my first league game of the season.”
It turned out to be a disappointing comeback for the player who is one of the most feared forward in the league as Nasarawa United ended Pillars’ 12-year unbeaten home streak with a 2-1 win at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
He is however optimistic that they will bounce back from the setback.
“We are still disappointed with the loss, but we have learnt from that and will surely bounce back in subsequent games.”
