Garba: Germany More Tactical Than Us

By Johnny Edward:

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba has blamed his side’s loss of concentration for their exit from the on-going FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Levin Oztunali’s 19th minute strike was enough to take Germany through to the last eight of the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 at the expense of Nigeria.

But Garba who admitted there were lots of lessons learnt from the game for his side admitted that the African champions faced a highly tactical team in the young Germans.

“I believe that our players learnt a lot from this game and a big lesson in general from the tournament,” he began in his post-match reactions on the FIFA website.

“The level at U-20s is far higher than at U-17s and Germany are a very tough and highly tactical team. Our players lost concentration at the crucial moment and this gave the Germans a chance to score.

“Our goalkeeper played a great game though and may have saved that ball if he had a clear view, but there is nothing we can do now. All my players have been in great form and I am proud of them all.

“There have been so many unexpected results in this tournament, but one can never predict the winner. I give my thanks to New Zealand for showing love for our team, the people here have made us feel at home.”

The Germans will face Mali in the quarter-final clash with Mali and remain in Christchurch, while Nigeria head home. the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
