Comedian and master of ceremonies Gbenga Adeyinka has rubbed salt in the wound of Chelsea fans by predicting that Jose Mourinho’s team are unlikely to retain their Barclays Premier League title after Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
The Blues are just above teams in the relegation spot in the table with eight points and have seen title rivals, bar Manchester City, garner points against weaker opposition this weekend.
“At this stage of the season Chelsea have dropped so many points already and I don’t see how they will overtake their rivals at the top,” Adeyinka ‘the First’, who is a big Arsenal fan, told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Man City have surprisingly lost twice now but still, I do not think they will be as poor as Chelsea have been. Man United on their part have been quite impressive with the addition of Anthony Martial.
“The Spurs win over City on Saturday has given the teams at the top the chance to fight for it but Chelsea are unlikely to be in the mix now.”
Chelsea’s next game is a Champions League clash against Jose Mourinho’s former club, Porto, at the Estadio Dragao on Tuesday.
Mourinho led the Portuguese side to win the 2004 Champions League title.
