Super Eagles and Warri Wolves forward Gbolahan Salami and his wife Lolade welcomed their first child, a bouncing baby boy, on Sunday, the player has confirmed to Completesportsnigeria.com.
Salami who last week won the maiden Rashidi Yekini Highest Goal Scorer Award instituted by the NPFL in honour of the late Super Eagles record scorer that he is excited at the arrival at his new baby.
“Thank God for everything. It’s an amazing feeling to be a father. I thank God for that,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Nigerian Premier League top scorer with 17 goals at the just concluded season got married in December 2014.
He is expected to be named in coach Sunday Oliseh’s 30-man squad in preparation for the African Nations Championship in Rwanda next year.
