Man of the Match in Wednesday’s 2-0 semi-final win against the Black Satelitte of Ghana, Obinna Nwobodo has said the Flying Eagles are ready for the final of the 2015 AYC in Senegal.
Nwobodo opened scoring for Nigeria when he connected a header off a corner kick by skipper Muhammed Musa in the first half.
According to africanfootball.com, Nwobodo expressed happiness that the Flying Eagles will be playing in Sunday’s final.
“Every game we have played in Senegal has been a cup final for us and it will be the same on Sunday when we play the final,” vowed the Enugu Rangers star.
“We’re delighted to reach the final and we will go all out to win the tournament on Sunday.”
Nigeria await the winners of the Thursday’s other semifinal between Senegal and Mali.
Nwobodo is the third Flying Eagles star to scoop a Man of the Match award in Senegal after Taiwo Awoniyi (vs Senegal, vs Congo) and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi (vs Cote d’Ivoire).
In the meantime, Flying Eagles skipper Musa Muhammed is now the leading scorer in the 2015 AYC after he scored his fourth goal from the penalty spot on Wednesdayagainst Ghana.
