Nigeria will be parading the youngest squad at the FIFA U-17 World Cup which starts in Chile on Saturday, FIFA has revealed.
Calculations show that 16 years, 11 months and ten days will be the average age of the Golden Eaglets squad when the tournament kicks off on Saturday, the youngest at Chile 2015.
Former Super Eagles star Emanuel Amuneke, the coach of the side, will be hoping his young charges continue the good progress made by Manu Garba’s champions from 2013, with 12 out of the 21 in their United Arab Emirates 2013 squad featuring at the FIFA U-20 World Cup earlier this year in New Zealand.
Amuneke, Africa Cup of Nations winner and World Cup star, was one of Garba's assistants in the UAE two years ago.
The Eaglets finished fourth at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, picking the last African ticket for Chile.
