Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation,Chris Green, is confident that the home-based Super Eagles will triumph over Guinea on Tuesday in the team’s third and last Group C game of the 2016 African Nations Championship holding in Rwanda, Completesportsnigeria.com reports
Speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com ahead of the game in the Rwandan city of Rubavu, Green affirmed the confidence the Nigeria Football Federation have in the Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, to ‘deliver’ the title.
“The Eagles are in the Championship to compete and are coached by a technically sound Sunday Oliseh. They know what is at stake and are going about it with utmost seriousness, ” confident Green tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
“There could be blips here and there, like the draw against Tunisia after a splendid opening game against Niger, but that is football for you.
“I’m very satisfied with the way Oliseh is going about the job. I can assure you that Oliseh will deliver on his mandate, but we have to be patient and encourage him all the way.
Green believes Guinean are difficult foes who also also know they are up against strong Nigerian side.
“They (Guinea) themselves know that it’s not going to be an easy match.
“Let’s not put the team (home-based Eagles) under undue pressure, it’s one game at a time. I believe the team will get the result they need against Guinea and as the tournament progresses, you will see how good the team is. The Eagles’ best is yet to come.
“Oliseh is doing a great job at the moment and I commend him. Let’s pray for him and the team,” Green urges.
