Men’s Handball AFCON: Nigeria Lose To Algeria, Crash Out Of Rio Olympics Race

Nigeria men's handball team have crashed out of the 2016 African Men's Handball AFCON after losing their final group game 31-23 to Algeria.

The game which was played on Tuesday, saw the Nigerian team automatically lose out in the race for a place at Rio Olympics and the 2017 World Handball Championship.

The result lives Nigeria fifth on the final group stand.

They will now take on Kenya in a classification game on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the quarter-final pairings of the 2016 Men's Handball AFCON are: Angola against Morocco, Tunisia taking on Cameroon, Algeria battling DR congo and hosts Egypt squaring off against Congo Brazzaville.

All the quarter-final games will kick-off on Wednesday.
