Lukman Haruna says he hopes to show his best form straight away in an Anzhi Makhachkala shirt when the season Russian begins in a fortnight.
The Nigerian international who is in the final year of his current deal with his parent club Dynamo Kiev signed a six-month loan deal with Anzhi.
Anzhi won promotion back to the Russian Premier League for the 2015/16 season and start their campaign at home to Krylya Sovetov Samara on July 19.
Haruna told completesportsnigeria.com exclusively when he touched down in Russia that the appeal of regular football in central midfield at the club was too good an offer to turn down.
"The fact that I will be playing regularly is one reason I joined," the former Nigerian youth international told completesportsnigeria.com.
"And I must thank Dynamo for allowing me leave and Anzhi for the opportunity."
Meanwhile, Portugal forward Hugo Almeida has joined Anzhi Makhachkala from fellow Russian Premier League side Kuban Krasnodar, the club announced.
Almeida, who has scored 19 goals in 57 internationals, signed a two-year contract with the club.
