Enyimba forward, Mfon Udoh, is delighted to help Enyimba secured a vital win against Tunisian side, Etoile du Sahel, in the first leg of their CAF Champions League tie on Sunday, although he is not celebrating passage into the next round just yet, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The former Akwa United striker scored all three goals as the Peoples Elephant trounced the North Africans 3-0 to boost their chances of qualifying for the lucrative group stage of the competition.
Udoh converted a penalty kick on nine minutes and added two more goals in the 56th and 80th minutes.
Udoh who has now scored seven goals in the competition told Completesportsnigeria.com that his side will not get carried away with the first leg advantage.
“It feels great to score three goals against a strong side like Etoile du Sahel,” Udoh told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I must thank my team mates for making it possible for me to score the goals. It was a great team performance from all of us.
“The first leg is behind us now and we are looking forward to the game in Sousse.
“We have a good advantage, but we won’t allow that get into our heads.”
The reverse fixture will be played next week Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium in Sousse.
