…Over Contractual Breach
Heartland of Owerri goalkeeper, Philip Achor, is poised for a showdown with the Naze Millionaires.
Achor claimed the club have breached their contractual agreement with him as regards welfare, stating that the club neglected him in his moment of need.
The former Warri Wolves shot-stopper told completesportsnigeria.com that his predicament started in August last year when they travelled to Aba for a league match against Enyimba.
“During the pre-match training, I sustained a terrible injury which affected my lungs and was rushed to a hospital in Aba,” the goalkeeper revealed.
“I was in a coma for several days and only God saw me back to life.”
He added that officials of the club paid part of his medical bill while he took care of a substantial part of it.
“Surprisingly, Heartland cut down my salary from N400,000 monthly to N100,000. This has been the case since September last year.
“I don’t know why they should treat me this way considering the fact I sustained the injury while on club duties,” Achor added to completesportsnigeria.com while threatening to take the matter to the League Management Company.
“I may even take the matter to court if I don’t get fair hearing from the league body,” he added.
