Heartland of Owerri forward, Bright Ejike, says he believes the Naze Millionaires can still make the top three of the Glo Premier League at the end of the season which has only six games remaining.
Ejike told completesportsnigeria.com that six games is still like a marathon race in which anything could happen.
"We have 18 points to play for so it is still a long way to go", Ejike told completesportsnigeria.com Monday morning.
"It won't be out of place for us get about 15 points from the 18 and if we do that, why not, it's top three here we come. "
Heartland are currently seventh on the log with 47 points following Sunday's 2-1 defeat of Enyimba in a match day 32 clash in Owerri.
Ejike who had his goal against Enyimba overruled by the match official is still mystified as to why the goal was cancelled.
"I just don't know why, it is still a surprise to me," he said.
The striker is third on the leading scorers' chart with 13 goals, same as Gbolahan Salami of Warri Wolves.
Efosa Igbinoba of Nasarawa United is topping the chart with 15 goals, followed by Tunde Adeniji of Sunshine Stars with 14 goals.
However, Ejike reckons that the top scorer's race is not yet won and lost.
"We will continue to work hard and fight till the end. For me, I believe it is not yet over.
"The gap is not yet wide and we still have six games to go, so I believe six matches is such a long time before the final winner could emerge," he stressed.
Describing the victory over Enyimba in Owerri on Sunday as important, Ejike told completesportsnigeria.com that the players were not under pressure to deliver.
"For us players, we were confident of beating Enyimba so there was no question of us being under pressure.
"If you ask me, I would say it was the officials, yes, our own officials who were under pressure.
"In the last two seasons, Enyimba have not been a problem for us in Owerri so we knew that right there on the pitch, we'd do our best to win and we did just that."
