Experienced French coach Hervé Renard confirmed that he won’t be leaving his position as Ivory Coast manager.
The two-time AFCON champion’s words came to reply to the Egyptian Football Association’s recent statement saying that they’re negotiation with the 46-year-old to succeed sacked coach Shawky Gharib.
“Officials of the Ivorian Football Association want me to continue with them, and I have the same desire to stay and complete my contract, especially since am leading the continent’s strongest team, having achieved their first African Cup of Nations title in 23 years, ” he said.
Renard also denied all rumours suggesting that his huge financial requests and his insistence on the presence of three assistant coaches are the obstacles preventing him from becoming Egyptian national team manager.
Hervé then denied the presence of any negotiations between him and the Egyptian Football Association, despite the latter saying that contact has been made.
In a TV interview Egyptian FA board member, Mahmoud El-Shamy, was previously quoted saying, “Renard and his assistants are under contract with Cote d’Ivore
until 2016, and the buyout clause is worth 100,000 euros.”
It must be noted that Renard previously told Radio Monte Carlo that he would be interested in leading the Egyptian national team one day: “Now I have a contract with Ivory Coast and I am focused with the Elephants, but later if [Egypt] offers me a deal I will think about that because Egypt is a very big team and I would like to lead them.”PROFITABLE FOREX TRADING; We GUARANTEE 37% weekly profit trading your forex account for you!
