Japanese side Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated Auckland City 2-0 in the play-off match of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The game which was played inside the International Stadium, Yokohama, saw Minagawa put Sanfrecce Hiroshima a goal up on nine minutes.
In the 70th minute, Tsukasa Shiotani made it 2-0 for the Japanese team.
They will now take on Africa representatives TP Mazembe in the quarter-final billed for Sunday inside the Osaka Nagai Stadium.
The other quarter-final will see Club America take on Guangzhou Evergrande FC.
Other teams taking part in this year's Club World Cup include European champions Barcelona and Copa Libertadores winners River Plate.
