By Adeboye Amosu In Ouagadougou:
Nigeria qualified for the 2016 African Nations Championship on Sunday after holding Burkina Faso to a goalless draw here in Ouagadougou.
The home-based Super Eagles went through 2-0 on aggreggate having won the first leg 2-0 in Port Hacourt a week ago.
As reported by Completesportsnigeria.com a full 24 hours before the match, the Eagles fielded the same line-up on Sunday as was fielded last week in Port Harcourt.
That meant no place for the in-form Gbolahan Salami and Chisom Chikatara in the starting line-up.
The hosts started brightly and the visitors' Kalu Orji was booked after just six minutes.
Burkina Faso's relentless pressure nearly paid off in the 21st minute when Nigeria's Oboroakpor handled the ball in the box. Fortunately for the Eagles, the penalty was missed.
Centre-back Jamiu Alimi was taken off for Stephen Eze after the break but Chima Akas got booked three minutes into the second half as the hosts sought the first goal.
Salami and Chikatara came on for Osas Okoro and Tunde Adeniji in the second half as the Eagles hung on to qualify for their second straight CHAN.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
