The Nigerian keeper was largely untested in the game unlike his opposite number, Christoffer Mafoumbi. He proved he could deal with crosses. The keeper also has good reflexes and could not do much for the Congo goal. 5/10.
The Sampdoria left back had a good game and was intelligent with his surging runs down the channels. He also tracked back on time. 6/10.
A very commanding performance in the game. Sadiq was a strong presence in the Eagles backline though he was given some hard times in the game. 5/10.
The understanding between Oduduwa and his central defensive partner, Erhun Obanor, was evident. At some point in the game he left his position but thankfully was covered by his partner. 6/10.
The Abia Warriors defender who is also adept at left back had a game to remember. He was strong in the tackle and also won lots of aerial battles. 7/10.
The captain of the day for the U23 was a general in midfield for the Dream Team XI. He broke up many plays and recoiled possession for the team. 8/10.
The midfielder retained the ball brilliantly and made key passes in the game. A great asset to the team. 6/10.
The former Flying Eagles winger was a menace for the Congo defenders. He drew a lot of fouls in the game from the right flank especially in the first half. In the second half, Saviour drifted to the left but the former seemed where he was most dangerous. 8/10.
The Warri Wolves forward was a constant threat for the Congo defenders. If he wasn’t laying good passes for his teammates, he was unleashing shots from the edge of the box. 7/10.
The left footed forward was the team’s freekick and corner kick taker. His pace was also a great asset to the U23 side and constituted a problem for the opposition. Substituted in the second half. His cross led to Nigeria’s second goal. 7/10.
The skilful striker scored Nigeria’s two goals in the game though was also guilty of wasting some glorious chances.
Ajayi’s trickery and good positioning were a handful but his finishing was the disappointing side of his game. 8/10.
The Flying Eagles cum U23 star striker replaced Junior Ajayi in the second half. Awoniyi was a bit withdrawn in the game but that could be down to the time he was introduced into the game, about 15 minutes left in the game. 5/10.
Musa Yahaya was also introduced in the second half but had little impact to make in the team. Yahaya, like Awoniyi, could have fared better if he was brought from the bench earlier. Some of his passes were misplaced. 5/10.
The forward operated from the left wing when Samson Siasia introduced him in the game but had little time to also stamp his authority.
