By James Agberebi: Scotland and Hull City defender Andy Robertson has expressed confidence that Super Eagles prospect Moses Odubajo will overcome his injury setback.
Odubajo is set for six months on the sidelines following his injury in Hull's pre-season friendly against Grimsby Town.
“Moses’ injury was a freak injury – one that can happen to anyone at any time,” Robertson told Hull's official website.
“It goes without saying that we’re all gutted for him. To see him out for that amount of time is so disappointing.
“I know how excited he was to have the chance to play in the Premier League – it’s gutting to see that taken away from him for a while.
“It’s going to be tough for him but, as a squad and as a group, we’ve got to rally round him.
“It’s important that we all support him through his rehabilitation process as best we can. Knowing what he’s like though, I’m sure he’ll be back stronger and fitter than what he was before the injury.
“It’s tough for all of the lads that have picked up long-term injuries but I’ve got no doubts about their mentality and I’m certain they’ll all come back stronger than ever.”
Odubajo played a key role in Hull's promotion back to the English Premier League last season.
