Warri Wolves midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, hopes to secure a berth in Nigeria's squad to the African Nations Championship following his invitation to the preliminary squad, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ibenegbu is one of the new faces in the 26-man list released on Monday by head coach of the side, Sunday Oliseh.
The other new players in the squad are include Chris Madaki, Julius Ubido, Ibrahim Salawu Attah and Christain Madu.
The former Heartland player told Completesportsnigeria.com that he is looking forward to playing in the competition reserved for senior players playing in their country's domestic league.
"I'm delighted to be in squad and I hope my name will be on the final list," he informed Completesportsnigeria.com.
"The CHAN is a big competition and it will be great to go with the team to Rwanda."
The competition will start in Rwanda on Saturday, January 16 and end on Sunday February 7, 2016.
